Focus on the Brassica group

This months focus is on the incredible Brassica group of vegetables this group includes Kale, Cauliflower, Broccoli, Greens, cabbage and Brussel sprouts these vegetables are powerhouses of nutrients and in my opinion should be consumed daily.

Not only are they packed full of Vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and fibre but scientists have discovered they can actually help fight cancer. This is because they are full of the sulphur containing chemical glucosinolates these chemicalsdisplay anti-carcinogenic activity because they reduce activation of carcinogens and increase their detoxification (Anubhuti et al 2016).
