There is a misconception that corns, callus and cracked skin is caused by poor foot wear. Poor foot function and biomechanics are normally the cause of these conditions, so we look at your feet holistically, taking into consideration the mechanical function of the lower limb, knee and hip and the way in which your feet contact the ground. We also take into consideration your daily activity levels, normal footwear and how poor posture, pelvic misalignment, leg length discrepancies and tight or poorly toned muscles may contribute to your sore feet.

We treat problems in the lower limb that have arisen from systemic health conditions, such as:

  • Diabetes
  • Rheumatoid arthritis
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Gout
  • Stroke / CVA/ TIA
  • Peripheral Vascular Disease
  • Peripheral Arterial Disease
  • Muscular Dystrophy
  • Cerebral Palsy
  • Multiple Sclerosis

We also treat feet that have just been abandoned and ignored and need some TLC, care and attention!

There are stairs from the ground floor entrance to the clinic so please telephone in advance if you need assistance to climb the stairs.

If there is time remaining on the appointment you have booked, we will try and use that time to give you a foot massage, so please bring socks (this cannot be done with inappropriate footwear, sorry) and TROUSERS THAT CAN BE ROLLED TO THE KNEE!

We like to use a mixture of medical grade lotions and creams that are proven to deliver clinical results. However, we have a selection of natural herbal and aromatherapy-based massage lotions from Gehwol that can be used where there are no open wounds and under circumstances where you are not under GP/consultant care for medical conditions.
