Excessive supination, also known as underpronation, is the opposite of excessive pronation (overpronation) and occurs when the weight is primarily placed on the outside of the foot during walking or running.

Underpronation can result in misalignment of the body and lead to pain in the feet, lower legs, knees, hips, and back.

The traits related to a person’s feet and legs that can contribute to this issue are often inherited. Factors such as leg length, foot width, and ankle stability play a role. Additionally, wearing incorrect footwear can also be a contributing factor.

Our team of physiotherapists and podiatrists can provide advice and assistance in implementing various methods to correct your gait and address the issues associated with underpronation.
