Dr Iva Roberts BSc(Hons) Bc PGDip c DClinPsych is a specialist clinical psychologist working with adults and children and their families. She has over ten years experience working in mental health. At the Mind Body Clinic she provides consultation and psychological therapy to adults and children. She is registered with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC).
She provides and individualised short -term therapies focused on a specific difficulty and long-term therapy aimed as relational issues and self-understanding informed by a range of perspectives – psychodynamic , cognitive-behavioural (CBT), cognitive analytic therapy (CAT), and systemic (including narrative and solution-focused). She has a great interest and experience working with children and their families and continues her professional development in the area. She has worked with children diagnosed with Autism, ADHD and other developmental difficulties .
She offers support to people experiencing a range of difficulties, including: Addiction, anger, anxiety, ADHD, Autism/Asperger’s Syndrome, bereavement, chronic pain, low mood/depression, dissociation, rapidly changing and overwhelming emotions, impulsivity, managing life transitions, marital and premarital difficulties, learning difficulties and disabilities, obsessionality/’OCD’, relationship issues, self-esteem, self-harming, sexual abuse, sleep problems, stress, trauma and post-traumatic stress/’PTSD’, unusual beliefs, voices, visions /’psychosis’.
Making a Start
After making contact with the Mind Body Clinic we can schedule a telephone call to briefly discuss your reasons for seeking support and arrange an initial consultation meeting. The consultation is an opportunity to begin developing a shared understanding of your difficulties and what it might be helpful to do next. If we agree that it would be helpful to begin working together we can then make a plan for therapy. Each session lasts for 50 minutes. My current availability is Tuesday evenings between 6 -9 pm; Wednesday 8am -2pm, Friday 8-11am.
