Areas of expertise:
Hi I’m Zoe, a Chartered Physiotherapist working as a senior musculoskeletal outpatient Physiotherapist within the NHS. My passion for the human physique and movement stems from a contemporary dance background which often influences my practice in terms of core strength, posture and balance.
Physiotherapy is largely an exercise-based therapy that incorporates education and manual techniques as an adjunct to treatment when appropriate. The aim is to focus on the long-term rehabilitation and management of a wide range of musculoskeletal problems. These may be related to old or new injuries such as acute sprains, repetitive strain, recovery from orthopaedic surgery or accident related injuries such as whiplash and fracture. Physiotherapy treatment can also help with tendinopathies, plantar fasciitis/heel pain, balance/mobility problems and sport specific rehabilitation as well as helping with management of ongoing conditions such as arthritis and multiple joint pains.
My special interest is the management of chronic low back pain using a cognitive behavioural approach to help you develop the quality of life that living with pain often overshadows and helping you to find the confidence to restart activities that you may have given up due to a low back pain problem.
I am HCPC registered and I am also qualified to practice western acupuncture which can help aid with pain relief and muscle release alongside an appropriate exercise-based therapy program.
